A handful of truly inspirational artists will place their work some of of Kennebunkport’s spectacular Inns and Hotels. During the Sunday tour, guests will be offered the chance to view inspirational art in the unique setting of Kennebunkport’s historic Inns and interact with the artists who will be on hand to answer questions about their work.

When some of the area’s most celebrated Chefs come together to prepare an amazing multi-course meal with each dish paired with a carefully crafted Cellardoor wine, you have the makings of a magical evening. The Chefs’ Gala is a waterside celebration of Maine food and wine that’s sure to be an inspirational culinary start to your Maine summer.

As the dishes are cleared and you feel as though the evening could not get any better, it will – that’s when the music begins and dancing into the breezy June evening commences. We are so looking forward to hosting you under the stars The Breakwater Inn.

The Gallery on Chase Hill will host an opening reception for the Plein Air Painters Invitational to benefit Heartwood College of Art on Saturday evening from 4-7 p.m. The works will be the result of a 3-day paint out of the surrounding area. Meet and speak with the artists while enjoying refreshments and hors d’oeuvres. All are welcome!

It’s no mistake that this riverside gathering is called Grand. Presented by Cellardoor Winery, this flavorful midday event is the perfect combination of great wine, fine food and original art. Fifteen area restaurants and caterers will be on hand preparing and serving dishes that showcase their signature flavors and flare for incredible cuisine. You’ll sip Cellardoor wines along with Maine-brewed beer and Maine-distilled vodka as well as a host of fine wines from France, California, Oregon, South Africa and New Zealand.

While you sip, nibble and mingle you’ll watch and chat with the Chefs as they demonstrate their culinary magic. Plus the Grand Tasting and Showing gives you the unique opportunity to meet and talk with the artists whose work will be on display at the Festival. And it all happens by the water under a grand tent at the picturesque Breakwater Inn. We are so looking forward to seeing you there.

Norman Rockwell would be proud. Children, parents, lemonade, sugar cookies, crafting, grand prizes – This is small town USA. Please join the children of the Kennebunks as they display their fine sculpture, painting, photography and other artistic creations at the first annual Children’s Festival. Kids ages 5-12 will display their creations at the Nonantum Resort on Ocean Avenue for this one day event. Judges will award prizes for the “winner” of each category, including a grand prize, seating for four on the Pineapple Ketch! This is not your average art opening…there will be fun to be had by all with craft stations, yummy snacks and much much more! We’ll see you there.

Young artists can drop off their one piece of art work at the Nonantum Resort on any of the following dates/times:

Thursday, June 3rd from 4-6:00 p.m.
Friday, June 4th from 4-6:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 5th from 9-10:00 a.m.

The Gallery on Chase Hill will sponsor and host the regional “Plein Air Painters Invitational to benefit Heartwood College of Art” beginning on Saturday, June 6th. The show will include twenty of the regions most significant plein air painters, displaying both wet paint and studio pieces from each artist. As part of the Arts in the Inns 2010 event, the plein air painters will set up their easels at various locations as they capture the inspirational scenery that our special piece of the Maine coast has to offer. This “Paint Out” will take place from June 2rd – 6th. There will be an opening reception Saturday night from 4-6 pm, where guests will have a chance to meet the artists while they view and consider each artist’s work, including those produced during the “Paint Out.”

The Artist in Residence program is a hallmark of the Fine Living Festival. Local Inns and Galleries will host a group of very accomplished artists between Thursday and Sunday and offer special programs featuring those artists.

Guests of the Inns will have the unique opportunity to interact with the visiting artists, enjoy a breakfast hosted by the artist and at the same time enjoy the legendary hospitality of some of Kennebunkport’s most distinguished inns.
