United Way of York County/Maine & Kennebunkport Fine Living Festival

“With so many of our friends and neighbors struggling to meet their basic needs, we’re grateful that our partnership with the Kennebunkport Fine Living Festival will benefit those in need right here in York County,” said United Way of York County President & CEO Kathryn Davis.

Why United Way of York County/Maine? Why Now?

  • Here in southern Maine, more people are seeking help this year, many for the first time to meet their basic needs.
  • Nearly 12% of our local children live in poverty and over 35% live in such low income families that they qualify for free lunch programs offered in public schools. During the summer when schools are closed, more children suffer from hunger. Proceeds from this festival will help reduce food insecurity for many in York County.
  • The issues facing our friends and neighbors in York County are more complex than any one individual or organization can solve.
  • United Way of York County brings people and resources together to meet emergency needs and to effect long lasting changes in community conditions that improve lives.
  • We draw on local assets to build caring capacity through collaboration with thousands of volunteers and donors.
  • We believe when we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all.
